What partition scheme to use for installing Ubuntu 12.04 on a 500GB HDD?

What partition scheme to use for installing Ubuntu 12.04 on a 500GB HDD?

I have a 500GB hard disk on my Dell 3420n and I want to know what the best
partition scheme is for it.
Will the following scheme be okay? I want to install a bunch of applications.
/ - 100GB
swap - 4GB (I have 4GB RAM)
/home - the rest
